Variable Area Type Spring Loaded Desuperheater Single Nozzle
This type of DSH uses the above spray nozzle. We have 06 variants Under this model & are selected based on the differential pressure & the required spray water quantity.
The DSH water pipe is inserted in the steam line upto the centre line & mounted on the piping nozzle. The water injection happens at the centre of steam line in the direction of steam flow, where the velocity is maximum. This ensures a good atomisation of water.
It is recommended to have a steam velocity of more than 8m/s for proper mixing of water. If the velocity is lesser than the above, then liner is provided which increases the velocity at the point of injection. The liner is also recommended when the difference between the uncooled steam temperature & the water temperature is more than 250 deg. C. This is to protect the inside of pipe wall from thermal gradients.
Depending upon the customer piping arrangement, we have two configurations for connection of water line.

• Straight construction
The DSH can also be supplied with steam stud connection with 1mtr pipe & thermal liner, as per requirement.
